German FA fined over ‘Sieg Heil’ Nazi fan chants
FIFA hand out £25,000 fine after supporters sang racist chants in a World Cup qualifier match in the Czech Republic last month
The German Football Association have been fined £25,500 by Fifa after their fans sang Nazi chants during a 2-1 World Cup 2018 qualifier against Czech Republic last month.
World football’s governing body found them guilty of “improper conduct” – after they supporters sang the songs during the match in Prague, which German manager Joachim Low said “brought shame on their country”.
The charges related to fans encroaching on the field and setting off fireworks at the game which took place at the Eden Arena, while the Czech federation were also fined £3,765 for crowd disorder.
