GIFT’s first ever charity drive-in draws more than 800
The fundraiser involved more than 220 cars and various entertainers, including Zulu dancers and former The Voice contestant Moni Tivony
More than 220 cars hit the road last week to attend GIFT’s first ever charity drive-in evening, which organisers said drew close to 800 guests.
The evening’s entertainers included a troupe of Zulu dancers and former The Voice contestant Moni Tivony, who performed on stage with 13 year-old singer Yoni Shine
Guest of honour Barnet Mayor councillor Caroline Stock presented awards to ten volunteers to honour the contributions they made during the lockdown.
Award recipients included Claudia Green, who brought thousands of meals to isolated, elderly and unwell members of the public, as well as Talia Goldstein, who manned GIFT’s phones during a period of four months, and Lauren Moshal, who collected more than £12,000 worth of electronic devices for families supported by the charity.
Sandor Milun, GIFT’s managing director, said the evening was a “wonderful celebration of GIFT’s amazing volunteers.”
“We were very grateful to have The Worshipful The Mayor of Barnet, trustees and friends join us for this incredible evening. The feedback from everyone has been awesome,” she said.
Councillor Stock, meanwhile, said she was “delighted” to have attended the event and praised GIFT’s “outstanding” volunteers. “GIFT just isn’t another charity, it has now grown into something very special,” she said.
