Giro d’Italia to start in Jerusalem
Israel set to host opening stage of prestigious cycling race.
Jerusalem is set to host the opening stage of the 2018 Giro di’Italia.
Cycling Weekly reports the 101st edition of the race, will begin in Israel, which will make it the first Grand Tour to begin outside of Europe.
Set to start in Jerusalem, with possibly a time trial on 5 May, it would then continue with two road stages, one to the south, with the other potentially ending in Tel Aviv. The announcement is set to be made in August in Israel, following the Tour de France.
