Goodman puts in a Stirling effort
Long-distance runner Richard Goodman claimed one of the finest wins of his career at the weekend when he won gold at the British Universities and Colleges Cross Country Championships, held in Stirling.
Running the A race, the 20-year-old finished the 11.1km run on 33.51, and said: “I’m delighted to have won such a prestigious race, my win means so much for my University and to my team mates. Crossing the finish line 22 seconds in front of my long-time rival Jonny Hay was absolutely incredible.”
Now looking to get in three weeks of training before the National Cross Country Championships in Nottingham, Goodman will also be preparing for the summer track season where he hopes to make his senior international debut.
