Hampstead Garden Suburb dentist diagnosed with coronavirus
Jewish man has been in self-isolation in his north London home since last weekend after developing a fever and flu-like symptoms following a trip to Switzerland
A Hampstead Garden Suburb dentist has been diagnosed with the coronavirus – the first British Jew to catch the virus.
The Jewish Chronicle reports that the dentist was diagnosed following a skiing trip with his wife – who does not have the disease – to Switzerland last week.
The man has been in self-isolation in his north London home since last weekend after developing a fever and flu-like symptoms.
He was tested by Public Health England after contacting 111 and was told on Wednesday that he had tested positive for the virus.
The practice manager at the north London dentist told the Jewish Chronicle that Public Health England had notified the practice that there was no further risk . She told the newspaper: “We’re all fine. Being a dental practice, it is a very sterile environment. We wear gloves and masks when we treat patients. We sanitise everything.”
