Hapoel Be’erSheva win opening Champions League match
Israeli champions take slender lead into next week's second leg in Hungary.
Hapoel Beer’Sheba began their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win on Wednesday evening.

The two-times Israeli champions will take 2-1 lead to Budapest next week, after goals from Portuguese defender Miguel Vitor and Dan Einbinder had given them a 2-0 lead at Turner Stadium.
Davide Lanzafame scored what could be a precious away goal for the Hungarians, meaning they just need a 1-0 win n next week’s second leg, which will take place in front of empty stands after Honved was punished by UEFA for racist chanting by its fans.

Be’erSheva coach Barak Bachar said: “The score-line isn’t great but at least we won. For this stage of the season we played quite well. We won and our fate is in our hands. But we face a tough job in the second leg. We saw tonight that we are facing a good team and we will need to be ready next week. I’m confident we will complete the job next week.”
Einbinder said: “We hoped to win by a bigger margin. I’m very happy that we won and remained in control of this tie. The most important thing is to ensure we progress to the next round.”
