Harry Styles taking Hebrew lessons
One Direction star Harry Styles is taking Hebrew lessons and has already learned to write his name and ‘One Direction’ in the language, according to reports from the Daily Star.
A source said: “Harry’s made it his mission to learn to speak and write Hebrew. His obsession started with his tattoos, but now he’s becoming very serious about learning as much as he can. So far he learnt to write his name and One Direction in Hebrew.”
The British singer and pop icon is not Jewish himself but retains a strong affinity for Jewish culture and regularly tweets in Yiddish. The 19-year old also sports several Hebrew tattoos and, as revealed in a Jewish News interview with the One Direction film This Is Us producer Ben Winston, attends regular Shabbat dinners with Ben and his wife.
