HMH celebrate Watford Friendly League title win
HMH United U13’s completed the first step of a potential League & Cup double on Sunday afternoon as they clinched the Watford Friendly League U13’s Green Division title.
They secured the championship – with a game to go – after beating Hadley Wood 5-3. Sam Taylor scored twice, with Louis Cantor Bollack – a stunning curling effort into the top right hand corner – Leo Cohen and an own goal completing the win, and can now look forward to taking part in May’s Spring Trophy final.
Manager Lewis Cohen said: “I’m so delighted for the boys. They’ve played some exceptional football this season and come through so many tough games against excellent strong opposition. They took a little while to adapt to 11-a-side and coming up against some huge opponents, but have developed so much during the course of the season and they haven’t lost a league game since November.
“I’m so proud of their effort and determination and thrilled that after finishing as runners-up in five of our six previous seasons, we’ve finally tasted victory. Now we can really look forward to the Cup Final!”
