A Holocaust education charity has launched its ‘Wall of Memories’ online platform featuring virtual plaques paying tribute to Nazi victims.

The free-to-view initiative, which includes stories, recollections, and lesson-learning, comes from Generation 2 Generation (G2G), a charity founded by the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors.

It costs from £250 for families to record the lives and accounts of loved one, with G2G trustee Andrew Hirsch saying the wall ensures that “as people die, their lives and stories don’t die with them”.

Fellow trustee Anita Peleg said it will “help to convey to those who wish to learn about the Holocaust, the need for tolerance, empathy and understanding of all groups in society”.

The charity is hosting an online Holocaust Memorial Day event on 17 January featuring an interview with two survivors and their descendants. It will explore the role of second and third generations in retelling the survivors’ stories.
