Hovis becomes kosher certified
One the country’s most-recognised brands has made the landmark move to become kosher
Pesach will be even harder next year, following an announcement that Hovis is becoming fully kosher certified for the first time in its 130-year history.
Most of the range, including Soft White, Best of Both and Seed Sensations secured KLBD (Kosher London Beth Din) certification.
The move was welcomed by Rabbi Conway, Director of KLBD, who said it was “another major step towards KLBD’s goal to make kosher as easy and affordable as possible.“
He added, it would be a “great help” to “outlying communities as well as Jewish students, holidaymakers and all those away from home.”
The youth arm of the United Synagogue, also welcomed the move. Tribe on Campus’s Nottingham Ambassador, Daniel Glass, said: “With no kosher shops in Nottingham, getting kosher supplies isn’t the easiest. But, being able to pick up a loaf of kosher bread almost anywhere now is a great help to keeping kosher on campus.”
The chair of Sheffield United Synagogue Frada Wilenski, said they were “delighted that we have more flexibility of choice.”
