IDF strikes terror targets in Gaza Strip
Attack on Saturday evening came after four Palestinians crossed border fence to try and damage Israeli 'security infrastructures'
The Israel Defence Force hit a terror target in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night after four Palestinians entered Israel and attempted to set fire to engineering equipment.
The IDF released a statement, saying: “The incident that took place last night, damaging the security fence and an attempt to set fire to engineering vehicles, is another serious incident in a sequence of events in the fence area.”
Confirming the airstrike targeted a Hamas training camp in Rafah, the Israeli Air Force reportedly hit the target with three missiles. No casualties were reported.
Coming a week before Palestinians will be marking Land Day, which is expected to see thousands of Gazans set up tents as close to the border fence as they can – and staying there until 15 May – Nakba Day – the IDF also “warned of any incidents in which civilians are called to hold ‘protests’ used as cover to damage security infrastructure and to attempt to hurt Israeli citizens or IDF soldiers.”
