Immanuel students raise £27k for family of sick teacher
More than 50 students took part in an Immanuel College Alumni Sports Day last weekend which raised more than £700 for a popular Geography teacher diagnosed with a terminal illness last year writes Debra Green.
Current 6th form pupils played against an Alumni team in netball and football as part of an ongoing fundraising project to raise money for Paul de Naeyer and his young family.
Families, pupils, alumni and teachers of Immanuel College in Bushey, Hertfordshire have raised more than £27,000 for the family in just two months. Amongst other fundraising events, Immanuel College and its pupils have organised a raffle, a film night, non-uniform days and taken part in various charity sports events. Meanwhile, donations continue to flood in online.
The organiser of the day, and Immanuel’s Head Alumni pupil, Daniel Tannenbaum, said: “I was delighted to see such a turn out and it’s amazing that we have raised so much for Mr de Naeyer. It was great seeing current pupils and those who graduated 7 years ago to come together for such a fantastic cause.”
