Investigation launched into anti-Israel poster campaign on London Underground
An investigation has been launched into Anti-Israel adverts plastered on trains across the London Underground, dubbed an “an act of vandalism”.
The campaign – marking Israel Apartheid Week – claimed British-made arms were used to “massacre”, whilst another asks why BBC reporting is biased in favour of Israel, and a third targets security company G4S, accusing it of “securing Israeli apartheid.”
The unsanctioned adverts are being removed by Transport for London, who called them “an act of vandalism which we take extremely seriously.”
A spokesman for British Transport Police said they were “aware of a series of unauthorised posters being displayed”, adding that “officers are now investigating to establish full circumstances surrounding the posters.”
They urge people to report posters on on 0800405040 or text 61016 with details.
A tweet from the account of Brighton BDS said: “over 500 London tube trains plastered with posters for the 4 million passengers to read tomorrow #Israelapartheidweek.
It added: “Big shout out to London activists who’ve been busy for #Israelapartheidweek.”
