Israel miss out on 2015 U21 Championships
Israel won’t be taking part in next year’s UEFA European Under-21 Championships after they failed to qualify for the play-offs, despite beating Macedonia in their last group game.
The hosts of the 2013 competition were hoping to finish as one of the four best runners-up, but despite winning their last game, their accumulated 15 points wasn’t enough to see them qualify, having finished behind group winners Portugal.
In what therefore proved to be a meaningless final game played in Larnaca, goals from Ben Reichert and Munas Dabbur saw them to a 2-1 win.
