Israeli jazz trio play Ronnie Scott’s next week
Shalosh 'redefines modern jazz' and is performing at legendary London club
There’s a rare chance to see internationally acclaimed Israeli modern jazz trio Shalosh this week when the group will be playing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club on Monday evening.
Shalosh (meaning three in Hebrew) stars Gadi Stern on piano, David Michaeli on bass and Matan Assayag on drums, with Emma Smith making a guest appearance on vocals, when the group brings its characteristically explosive energy and genre-defying sound to the UK.
Shalosh is known for an unmistakable melodic identity and fiercely physical live performances, and the band has built a global reputation for music that moves freely between jazz, classical, grunge, rock, techno and folk. The group continues to redefine the possibilities of the modern jazz trio.

Praised by The Times as “full of promise”, Shalosh has captivated audiences across Europe and beyond with what has been dubbed “jazz in the fast lane” – visceral, emotionally charged and driven by relentless momentum.
Following the critical success of Tales of Utopia, the trio’s sixth album What We Are Made Of pushes their narrative approach further, exploring themes of resilience, imagination and inner transformation. Recorded live in close physical proximity, without headphones or amplification, it captures Shalosh at their most raw and direct, balancing power-trio intensity with a new sense of intimacy and vulnerability.
2026 promises to be a landmark year for Shalosh it continues redefining what a modern jazz trio can be.
Shalosh is at Ronnie Scott’s on 13 April ronniescotts.co.uk
