Israeli sails to World Championship win
Yael Paz sailed to gold at the 2014 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships in Tavira, Portugal.
Holding onto first place after a nervy finish in the last day of the RS: X Men competition, the Israeli held off the challenge of Mattia Camboni, finishing the final race in second place, which was enough to earn him the win.
He said: “It’s a great feeling, and it was a tough race and really tight at the end but I’m so glad I won. It was massive pressure but in the end I managed to deal with it and I feel great and can’t wait to talk to everyone back home.
