Israeli tourists attacked in Dutch holiday park after being filmed by pro-Palestinian activists
Foreign Ministry demands justice after Israelis attacked in resort chain also popular in UK
Two Israelis were attacked and hospitalised in the Netherlands after pro-Palestinian activists secretly filmed them and shared their images online, the Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday.
The incident took place at the Center Parcs De Kempervennen holiday village, near Eindhoven. According to Dutch outlet, Jonet, footage of the Israeli families appeared on social media linked to the Amsterdam branch of Students for Justice in Palestine before the assault.
Both victims were treated for injuries at a local hospital in Eindhoven.
The Centre for Information and Documentation Israel (CIDI), a Dutch watchdog monitoring antisemitism, has lodged a legal complaint over the recordings and their distribution.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry said the embassy in The Hague was handling the case and urged Dutch authorities to act swiftly. In a statement on X, the ministry declared:
“Israel calls on the Government of the Netherlands to come to its senses and act resolutely to prevent attacks on Israelis in its territory, to locate the criminals, and to bring them to justice.”
Dutch media reported that multiple local residents were involved in the assault. Police have not yet confirmed arrests.
The attack comes amid heightened concerns over antisemitism in Europe. Earlier this month, three people were detained in The Hague after paint was thrown at the International Criminal Court building.
Center Parcs originated in the Netherlands and now operates villages across continental Europe, while a separate business runs its UK and Ireland sites.
