Jacobs named new BECC captain
Belmont and Edgware Cricket club held their annual end-of-season awards ceremony last week, where they elected Adam Jacobs as their captain for the 2015 season.
Jacobs, who enjoyed a stellar season which saw him finish as the club’s second highest run scorer and top wicket taker, takes over from Ryan Monk. Monk suffered an injury-ridden 2014 though was recognised for his captaincy and off-field administration at the club by chairman Mark Ableson.
The evening saw a number of accolades handed out, including Noam Attar who won bowler of the year for the 17 wickets he claimed, Elliot Mayer claimed the batsman of the year award having scored 282 runs, Joe Saleh was named young player of the year, Bension Tilley the most improved, while Harvey Samuels was named clubman of the Year.
