Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has told protesters gathered around Trafalgar Square today for the anti-Trump rally that he is proud London “can chase down” antisemitism.
“I’m very disappointed that our Mayor of London has been attacked in the way that he has,” he said, referencing a tweet by President Trump describing Sadiq Khan as a “stone cold loser.”
“I am proud that our city has a Muslim mayor, that we can chase down Islamophobia, antisemitism, and any form of racism because racism divides,” Corbyn said.
The comment comes after a difficult weekend for Labour, with the suspension of NEC member Pete Willsman who accused the Israel of “whipping up” antisemitism claims.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary party candidate Lisa Forbes was also forced to apologise for appearing to endorse antisemitic material on social media.
Forbes is standing in a hotly contested by-election on Thursday and has the backing of Jeremy Corbyn, who led a rally in her support on Saturday.
The Labour candidate liked a post that said Theresa May had a “Zionist slave masters agenda”. She also commented on another post that claimed Isis was was created by the CIA and Mossad, by writing: “I have enjoyed reading this thread so much.”
In a joint statement, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Jewish Leadership Council, and Community Security Trust all urged for her removal.
