Jewish BAFTA nominee for Ebola documentary is ‘flattered & excited’
A member of Alyth Synagogue has said she “incredibly flattered and excited” after being nominated for a BAFTA award.
Lucie Kon received a nod alongside her colleagues for their work on a Panorama documentary exploring the impact of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
Ebola Frontline, which screened on the BBC last year, featured footage taken by Medicins Sans Frontieres staff in the worst affected regions and revealed frustrations at the level of support from the international community.
Kon, who co-executive produced the programme, said: “I’m incredibly flattered and excited to have been nominated for a BAFTA. It was an incredible team effort. All we really wanted to do was shine a light on the harsh reality of this terrible virus which has devastated West Africa. I am pleased we were able to do this and very very grateful to everyone who played a part and to BAFTA for the nomination.”
Former Immanual College pupil Richard Cohen was among those nominated for a BAFTA for comedy panel show Would I lie to You.
