Jewish Care announces new Chief Executive
Ten years after joining the Jewish charity, Daniel Carmel-Brown says he is 'delighted and honoured' to be taking the helm
Jewish Care has announced Daniel Carmel-Brown will be its new chief executive.
He has held a number of positions at the charity since joining in 2008 – including his current role as director of fundraising and marketing.
Carmel-Brown, 42, said: “I’m delighted and honoured. I look forward to working with the president, honorary presidents, chairman, board of trustees and the thousands of dedicated colleagues, volunteers and supporters of this exceptional organisation to ensure we can continue to meet the growing and changing social care needs of the community”.
Charity president Lord Levy, said: “I’ve worked closely with Daniel over the last decade. He’s a natural leader, a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and has a solid grasp and understanding of the organisation and the current challenges. I am thrilled the trustees have appointed him and have every confidence he will build on the strong foundations that his predecessor Simon Morris has worked so hard to achieve.”
Carmel-Brown, who was selected ahead of eight other candidates, takes up his new position on 1 July, succeeding Morris, who held the role for 15 years.

Campaigning
Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
