Over fifty industry professionals and community members came together for a charity at The Everyman, King’s Cross, helping children in Israel, the UK, and around the world.

Jewish Child’s Day’s inaugural Business Breakfast welcomed guest speaker Dr Emily Lawson DBE and renowned journalist and broadcaster Hugo Rifkind, who led a discussion through a variety of topics.

Lawson currently heads up the Delivery Unit at 10 Downing Street, (which she has led since the then-PM appointed her in July 2021) ensuring government priorities are delivered.

During her conversation with Hugo, Emily shed light on her insights on what it takes to ‘Get Stuff Done’, drawing on experiences during the pandemic including leading the NHS Covid vaccine programme.

The event raised essential funds for Jewish Child’s Day (JCD) to continue to award grants to projects and organisations around the world who provide care to over 25,000 children annually.

Lawson said: “It was an honour to be able to support this event. Joining up experience and expertise across public and private sector approaches is critical to delivering the government’s critical priorities, and to ensure that what we learned during the pandemic is put to good use every day.”

Charles Spungin, Jewish Child’s Day Chairman said: “We were honoured to have Emily and Hugo join us for our inaugural Business Breakfast. It was truly humbling to see how much Emily can and does achieve every day, and the impact she has had on all of our lives, particularly in the past three years.”

As the leading Jewish UK grant giving charity, JCD has seen an increase of over 50% in the last year of  grant applications.
