Jewish employment charities collaborate for team training day
Expert panel featured executives from Marks & Spencer, Department for Transport and Jewish Care
Jewish employment charities Resource and Work Avenue partnered for the first time on Tuesday to provide professional development for staff who support more than 1,000 people annually in their job search.
Hosted at Resource in North Finchley, the event featured a panel of senior professionals, including Kate Cohen, director of strategic roads and local projects at the Department for Transport; Amy Pressman, talent acquisition manager at Marks & Spencer; Scott Bateman, head of resourcing and reward at Jewish Care; and Ari Boyd, the CFO of Aprirose investment company.
Resource chief executive Victoria Sterman said: “I’m overwhelmed by the amount of relevant and timely information shared by our illustrious panellists, all of which will go directly to helping our clients improve their job search. Additionally, the opportunity learn together with our colleagues at Work Avenue was tremendous, and we all so enjoyed the evening.”
Work Avenue chief executive Debbie Lebrett said: “It was fantastic to collaborate with Resource on such an insightful and forward-thinking discussion. Campaigning
Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
