Jewish guests claim hotel asked them to wash before using pool
Charedi family left insulted at the Aparthaus Paradies after the Swiss guesthouse put up signs with restrictions for Jews
A Charedi family from Israel have told how they were left insulted and offended at the manager of the Swiss hotel where they were staying put up signs telling Jews to wash before entering the pool.
The strictly Orthodox family, who recalled their experience to Israel’s Channel 2 TV, said they were staying at Aparthaus Paradies in the town of Arosa when they came across signs addressed “to our Jewish guests”.
Written in poor English, they read: “To our Jewish Guests: Please take a shower before you go swimming and although after swimming. If you break the rules, I’m forced to cloes the swimming pool for you. Thank you for understanding.” The signs were signed by Ruth Thomann.
Another message read: “To our Jewish guests: You are allowed to approach the fridge between the hours: 10.00-11.00 in the morning and 16.30-17.30 in the evening. I hope you understand that our team does not like to be disturbed every time.”
The father of the family in an interview with Channel 2 said the apartment owners had initially been very welcoming and friendly, providing everything they needed for their new-born baby.
