Jewish mum accused of ‘faking cancer for money’ due in court
Former JFS pupil Nicole Elkabbas is accused of accepting more than £45,000 to fight the illness she 'allegedly did not have'
A former JFS pupil accused of accepting more than £45,000 for a cancer she “allegedly did not have” is set to fight six counts of fraud in front of a jury.
Nicole Elkabbas, 40, from Broadstairs in Kent, was charged after an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
She is accused of taking £45,350 in public donations “for an illness she allegedly did not have” between February and August last year, Kent Police said. During this time she posted photos of herself apparently in a hospital bed.
Elkabbas was granted unconditional bail after appearing at Margate Magistrates’ Court earlier this month and her plea and case management hearing for a jury trial at Canterbury Crown Court will now take place on Monday.
