Jewish News junior review – week seventeen
Sunday afternoon saw the latest round of action played in the Jewish News Maccabi Junior Football…
It’s as you were at the top of both Divisions in the U11 age group.
Alyth Belsize Red continue to lead the way at the top of Division One by five points after they beat Hendon United Red 3-1. Zac Paul and Lior Solomons Wise got on the scoresheet for Alyth, with Max Cutner’s corner forcing an own goal for the third.
Their closest challengers are still Hendon United Blue, who beat Brady Maccabi by the same scoreline.
HMH Jaffa lead Division Two by a point after they beat HMH Eilat 2-0, Dylan Epstein and Adam Oberlander scoring their goals. HMH Tel Aviv stay in second following their 2-0 win over NWLJ, Rafi Onnie and Zavi Grunwald scoring the goals.
U10
It was Minor Cup day in the U10’s, with four first round ties being played.
Top scorers of the day were Brady Maccabi White, who came away from HMH Tiberias with a 10-1 win, thanks in no small part to a hat-trick from Dylan Smith.
Brady Maccabi Blue edged a 12-goal thriller as they beat Hendon United Blue 7-5, though it wasn’t all bad for Hendon after Hendon United Green defeated HMH Jaffa 5-1, Louie Glasner scored for HMH.
Elsewhere, HMH Eilat came away from NWLJ with a 2-1 win.
