Home Office hosts event with Jewish and Muslim community leaders
The Home Office hosted an Interfaith event with key speakers from members of the National Council of Imams and Rabbis, of the Joseph Interfaith Foundation.
The Foundation organised the event in association with Home Office Islamic Network, and Department of Communities and Local Government Jewish Network on 28 January 2015.
Dayan Ivan Binstock, senior rabbi of St John’s Wood orthodox synagogue spoke, as did Mufti Barkatullah, member of the London Shariah Council.
They spoke about how and why their religious courts were established.
They also outlined the remits of their work as community leaders, and the contribution given to their religious communities, and society.
The talks were followed a Q&A session.
