JK Rowling reveals Harry Potter has a Jewish classmate!
Author J.K. Rowling has confirmed that one of Harry Potter’s classmates at the Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft is Jewish.
Answering a question about whether there were any Jews at Hogwarts, the author revealed that the famous child wizard had a kosher classmate: Anthony Goldstein from Ravenclaw – one of the school’s four houses.
Fans of the series, which comprised seven novels later turned into films, have long speculated that Goldstein was of Jewish origin.
Thankfully, he was on the ‘right’ side, joining Dumbledore’s Army to fight evil Lord Voldemort.
