Joan Rivers: Doctors failed to identify deteriorating signs and provide intervention
Doctors treating the late Joan Rivers “failed to identify deteriorating vital signs and provide timely intervention”, an investigation into her death has found.
Medics from Yorkville Endoscopy also did not properly document how much of the sedative Propofol was administered, according to the Department of Health and Human Services Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Rivers, 81, died on 4 September, one week after a routine outpatient throat procedure at the clinic.
During surgery, the comedy star stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest.
