Lions masters complete league and cup double
Maccabi London Lions completed a league and cup double as they added the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup to their league title after they beat Glenthorne United 3-0 at Wingate on Tuesday evening.
Danny Schindler put Lions ahead on 38 minutes with a close-range header. Marc Morris doubled the lead, firing home in the 65th minute from Michael Abraham’s cross, before the victory was sealed with a Frank Steinberg penalty.
The Peter Moss Trophy for the Man-of-the-Match was awarded by Guest of Honour Barry Silkman to Lions’ Simon Barr.
