Lord John Mann joins anti Jew hate organisation advisory board
The former Bassetlaw MP is the latest peer to join Combat Anti-Semitism Movement's advisory board.
Lord John Mann is the latest peer to join the advisory board of an organisation launched last year to fight antisemitism.
The former Bassetlaw MP, who previously chaired the all-party parliamentary group on antisemitism, joins Lord Eric Pickles and other communal leaders on the Combat Anti-Semitism Movement (CAM) board.
Other members include Jewish Agency chairman Isaac Herzog and human rights activist Natan Sharansky.
“The battle against antisemitism has not only played a major role in my public life,” Lord Mann said. “It is also an issue which I am passionate about on a personal level.”
“The disease of antisemitism is not simply a problem for Jewish communities, it is a destructive force for all of society,” he added.
CAM director Sacha Roytman-Dratwa described him as “one of the world’s most admired figures in the fight against antisemitism” who had “set an outstanding example to parliamentarians and decision-makers across the world.”
Since last year, more than 260 organisations and 270,000 individuals have signed up to CAM’s pledge, which is based on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism.
