Maajid Nawaz instructs lawyer to pursue claims against Canary editor
Jewish News columnist revealed he has taken legal action against Kerry-Anne Mendoza over material sent from her Twitter account
Jewish News columnist Maajid Nawaz has instructed media lawyer Mark Lewis to pursue libel claims against the editor-in-chief of website The Canary.
Nawaz announced the move on social media on Wednesday, writing that he took legal action against Kerry-Anne Mendoza over material sent from her Twitter account on 2 December.
The post, which contains a retweet of a video critical of Jeremy Corbyn featuring Nawaz, read: “LBC pays men who’ve spent their entire lives inciting hatred to denounce a man who’s spent his life working for peace and justice. It’s almost as if their millionaire owners prefer mass poverty to paying their taxes.”
