Neo-Nazi denies racial harassment towards Luciana Berger
Joshua Bonehill-Paine entered a not-guilty plea to the charge of racially aggravated harassment of the Jewish MP
A 23-year-old man has denied harassing Labour MP Luciana Berger in anti-Semitic articles on the internet.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine, of Yeovil, Somerset, appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link from Belmarsh prison, accused of posting five “defamatory and insulting articles”.
The bearded defendant spoke only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty plea to a charge of racially aggravated harassment of the Liverpool Wavertree MP between October 26 2014 and January 25 2015.
The charge states that the posts “demonstrated towards Luciana Berger hostility based on her membership or presumed membership of a particular racial group, namely Jews”.
Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC adjourned the case until a two-day trial due to begin on December 5.
