Mark Regev tipped to be next ambassador to UK
The Israeli prime minister’s spokesman for the past eight years is favourite to become the next ambassador to the UK, according to media reports in Israel.
Mark Regev was named by Channel 2 tonight as the likely successor to Daniel Taub.
Before joining the prime minister’s office in 2007, he spent three years as foreign ministry spokesman. He has also served at the Israeli embassies in Beijing and Washington.
He was a regular feature on British TV screens during recent conflicts, putting Israel’s case on programmes including Newsnight.
