Masters football review – week 19
Maccabi London Lions wrapped up the Division Two title, while cup holders Chigwell suffered an early scare in the defence of their trophy, writes Jeremy Silverstone.
Sunday saw the first week of cup action take place, while the first silverware of the season was handed out in Division Two.

The Henry Swerner Cup kicked off this weekend, with EDRS suffering an early exit as they went down 4-0 to Brady A, Ashley Davidson, Kevin Lotzof, Mark Wagman and Adam Gishen all scoring.
In first round matches, second half goals from Jonny Summerfield and an own goal were enough to see Scrabble through as they beat HMH.
The holders, Chigwell, advanced to the next round, but only by beating North London Raiders in a penalty shoot-out. Level at 2-2 after 90 minutes, with James Cartmell and Lee Cash netting for Raiders, Adam Stolerman’s penalty and Rob Donn twice brought Chigwell back level, and it was the latter who won the shoot-out as they scored all four of their first four spot-kicks, with Raiders missing two of theirs.

The championship has been settled after Maccabi London Lions beat Glenthorne 3-1, to give them an unassailable lead at the top of the table.
Glenthorne were 1-0 ahead at the break thanks to an own goal, but Michael Abraham, Peter Joffe and Ory Halperin struck in the second half as Lions romped to an emphatic title.
