Masters football review – week six
Raiders went three points clear at the top of Division One, while St John's Wood Tigers spurned the chance to go join-top in Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone.
Action was focused at the top of both tables as a first minute strike saw Raiders to the points in Division One, while Tigers were held to a point in an eight-goal thriller in Division Two.
DIVISION ONE:

A goal in the first minute from Dan Levy was sufficient to give North London Raiders a 1-0 win over Scrabble and take them three points clear at the top of the table.
DIVISION TWO:

St John’s Wood Tigers missed out on the chance to go level with EHRS at the top of the table, as they could only salvage a point from an epic 4-4 encounter with Brady B. Previously without a point from their first two games, Brady raced into a 4-1 half-time lead against the title challengers thanks to Scott Ansher’s double, along with strikes from Malcolm Hershman and Kevin Lotzof. But Tigers roared back after the break and pulled it back to 4-4, with their goals coming from Ashley Marks, Ilan Cohen and two from John Perloff – and they were only denied the win by some outstanding goalkeeping heroics from Brady’s Martin Schultz.
Despite an own goal and Jeremy Fess’ strike, Glenthorne pipped Temple Fortune 3-2 thanks to goals from Vincent Goodman, Adam Lennard and Paul van Gelder.
