Mazeltov to Gesher’s first graduating cohort
Special educational needs school celebrates milestone for Year 11 students
Gesher, the Pinner-based community school for students with special educational needs (SEN) has celebrated its first graduating cohort of Year 11 pupils.
The celebration is a a significant milestone for the only Jewish primary and secondary school in the UK dedicated to children with mild to moderate special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and Down’s syndrome.
A spokesperson for the school said: “When Gesher opened its doors in 2017, we welcomed just seven children. Less than a decade later, seeing our first cohort graduate is a powerful reflection of how far we have come together. It is a testament to the courage of the families and supporters who believed in our vision, the dedication of our staff, and above all, the resilience, determination and growth of our students.”
Graduate Bea said: “This school brought me people that have changed my life and made me, me.”
The school said that the graduates will “now be pursuing a range of exciting pathways, in both mainstream and specialist provision. This includes gaining further qualifications, embarking on new educational courses or apprenticeships, in areas such as music, creative media and games design, and early years care — that reflect their individual strengths, interests and aspirations.”
- Placements are available across a number of year groups, and applications are welcomed all year round via the school website.
