Minister praises Orthodox school for academic performance
A minister has praised an Orthodox girls school for its performance last year and the hard work of its staff.
Writing to Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls School in Stamford Hill, Minister of State for Schools Nick Gibb hailed the staff’s ‘professionalism’ in a letter he wrote on Tuesday.
He wished the school of 350 pupils the ‘warmest congratulations’ for its standard of achievement in the English Baccalaureate in 2015, which Gibb said placed it in the top 100 non-selective state-funded schools in England.
Rabbi Pinter, Principal of Yesodey Hatorah School, said: “To receive this letter from Nick Gibb is a credit to our hard working pupils and staff. This is a difficult time for orthodox Jewish schools and the minister’s support in overcoming the challenges we face is essential to the future of our community.”
Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls’ School was opened by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2005.
