More than £8,000 raised for charity at Euro2020 final party on Tel Aviv beach
More than 1,000 England fans descended on Hilton Beach, helping to raise £8,000 for a charity supporting sick children.
A thousand England fans watched the Euro 2020 final in Tel Aviv on Sunday, helping to raise £8,000 for a charity supporting sick children.
Two British-born Olim organised the fan zone on Hilton Beach, charging attendees 50 shekels (£11), with the proceeds going towards Save A Child’s Heart. The charity operates on children with heart conditions all around the world, regardless of religion or nationality.
Matt Keston and Natasha Gee-Firsht said they organised watch-a-longs from the start of the tournament, initially as small gathering of 20 friends – organised through a WhatsApp group.
However, as England progressed it snowballed into hundreds of people attending, and eventually around thousand watched the final – which Italy won on penalties.
He said: “Natasha and myself are delighted to have raised £8000 for Save a Childs Heart and would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to an amazing atmosphere as well as this wonderful charity.
It’s coming home from Qatar in 2022 and our Tel Aviv fan zone will be back for all to watch it happen!”
