‘Nasty and illegal’ anti-Israel poster removed from London phone booth
The poster carried the slogan 'Israel is killing children again. Have a nice weekend.'
An anti-Israel poster claiming the country is “killing children” amid escalating tension in the region has been removed from a London phone booth.
The poster, discovered on advertising space belonging to JCDecaux on Farringdon Street, carried the slogan “Israel is killing children again. Have a nice weekend.”
This comes after Hamas launched nearly 700 rockets at Israel over the weekend, killing four people, prompting Israel to retaliate and hit 350 targets.
A pregnant Palestinian mother and her 14-month infant were killed by a misfired Gaza rocket, according to the Israeli military, a claim denied by Hamas.
The poster was allegedly put up on a phone booth by a Twitter account called Protest Stencil, following a similar fly-posting campaign in March which accused Israel of being an “apartheid state”.

The group shared pictures of their latest campaign on social media, writing: “When will people stop normalising Israel’s rampages? #GazaUnderAttack”
The Board of Deputies described the poster as “nasty and illegal” and urged anyone who may have spotted similar posters to report their locations.
“We spoke to @MayorofLondon’s office who assured us they would be removed. A number have been already,” the Board wrote on Twitter.
“If you see more please let us know locations & we will work with City Hall & @JCDecaux_UK to get them removed.”
A spokesperson for JCDecaux UK said: “This is vandalism, not advertising and as soon as we were alerted to this, we sent our team out to repost the phone kiosk in Farringdon Street.
“I can confirm it was removed on March 5.”
