National Holocaust Centre gets national accreditation from Arts Council
Nottingham-based museum and educational institution recognised for high standards, as it joins select group of organisations
The National Holocaust Centre and Museum in Nottingham has received national accreditation from the Arts Council.
The centre joins a select group of organisations including the Science and Natural History museums, recognised for high standards.
The Nottingham-based institution, known for its ground-breaking Forever Project which uses advanced digital technology to deliver 3D survivor testimony, was selected for membership of the Arts Council’s National Portfolio in June 2017.
Membership means it gets £300,00 for each of the next four years, allowing it to expand its educational work.
Phil Lyons, Chief Executive of The National Holocaust Centre and Museum, said accreditation “recognises the team’s extraordinary efforts to create a museum of national standing which reaches adults and young people across the country.”
“It shines a light on the importance of collecting and caring for artefacts and testimonies within our museum collection, many of which have been entrusted to us by Holocaust survivors and their families.”
