Over 165.000 sign petition demanding Adidas cut ties with Kanye over antisemitism
The musician, who accuses Jews of controlling media and 'raping' black artists, boasts that Adidas ‘can’t drop me’.
More than 165.000 people have signed a petition to Adidas, demanding it end its partnership with Kanye West over his repeated antisemitic remarks.
The rapper, also known as Ye, was widely condemned earlier this month when threatened to go “Death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
Since then, West has made unabated antisemitic remarks on some of the most watched TV talk shows in the world, including Tucker Carlon’s show on FOX News, and Piers Morgan’s “Uncensored” on Talk TV.
On Morgan’s show last week, West admitted he was being antisemitic but continued his wild allegations that Jews run the media and he is being cancelled.
“Maybe they would feel how all my people have felt, maybe they would feel the pain of when a black artist looks up and he is being raped by five Jewish businessmen,” West responded to Morgan when asked how he thinks it made Jews feel when he threatened them with “death con 3.”
West also boasted in a three hour rant on Revolt TV: “The thing about me and Adidas is like, I can literally say antisemitic s*** and they can’t drop me. I can say antisemitic things and Adidas can’t drop me. Now what?”
The petition to Adidas against West, started by the NGO Campaign Against Antisemitism, is now demanding that the iconic sports brand “answer Ye’s question… It must denounce antisemitism and end its partnership with Ye.”
“By continuing to align itself with a public figure who has revealed himself to be a virulent antisemite, Adidas would be demonstrating that it does not care about racism against Jews.”
The Anti-Defamation League said: “We must keep pressuring them (Adidas) to #RunAwayFromHate,” referring to its campaign aimed at getting Adidas to cut ties with West.
The organisation also tweeted a picture of white nationalists on a bridge in Los Angeles, with banners saying: “Kanye is right about the Jews.”
“Not only has @adidas remained silent on Ye’s #antisemitism, even as hate groups celebrate his dangerous rhetoric -they doubled down on their relationship, scheduling the release of new Kanye products,” ADL said.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for fashion heavyweight Vogue told Page Six that neither the magazine nor its editor Anna Wintour will work with West again. “Anna has had enough. She has made it very clear inside Vogue that Kanye is no longer part of the inner circle,” a Vogue insider told Page Six.
The French fashion brand Balenciaga also decided to sever ties with West.“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” a statement said according to Women’s Wear Daily.
