Neighbourhood safety meeting moved due to Yom Kippur clash
London Assembly member Andrew DIsmore asked for it to be moved given the rise of anti-Semitic hate crimes in London
A neighbourhood safety meeting has been rescheduled after it was originally planned for 11 October, after a London Assembly Member pointed out that this was Yom Kippur.
Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, agreed to arrange a new date for the London Safer Neighbourhood Board (SNB) meeting after a complaint by Andrew Dismore, who represents Barnet and Camden.
Dismore said he was pleased the meeting date could be moved. “Given the rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes over the last few years, and the subsequent fears held by members of the Jewish community about safety, it is important that there are Jewish voices from Barnet feeding in to the work of the police,” he said.
