Netta performs for British Airways to mark 80 years of Tel Aviv flights
Singer performs exclusive 'One Night with Netta’ gig in London to celebrate Israel's 70th birthday and the company's ties to the Jewish state
Eurovision fans in London were treated to a star performance by this years Israeli winner, Netta, on Monday November 19 as she performed an exclusive gig at British Airways head office.
The star performed ‘One Night with Netta’ at the airlines Waterside theatre to celebrate 70 years of Israel’s independence and over 80 years of British Airways flying to Tel Aviv.
The one-off concert, which fell during Netta’s European your, was organised as part of a two day cultural awareness roadshow at Heathrow to educate and inform British Airways crew on Jewish Customs and Israeli culture. The sell-out event, organised by a British Airways cabin crew member, was attended by 300 BA employees, members of the public and Jewish News competition winners. The BBC was on hand to interview Netta as part of a series document her life in the run up to, during and after Eurovision.
The singer wowed the audience with a bespoke 30 minute set which included new and upcoming singles, as well as her winning Eurovision track, ‘TOY’. Netta was joined on stage by Francine Lewis, star of Britain’s Got Talent, and Robert Rinder, ITV’s Judge Rinder.
All proceeds from the evening were split between Flying Start, British Airways Global Partnership with Comic Relief, and to Technion, Israel’s leading university whose charity wing undertakes Cancer Research which both benefitted from proceeds of ticket sales and a charity raffle and auction.
Speaking during the event, Netta inspired guests when talking about womens’ rights, the importance of being yourself and not accepting the status quo.
