Parliamentary reception for Israeli relief charity MANNA UK
A Kurdish MP and Israel’s deputy ambassador addressed the first parliamentary reception of MANNA UK, the UK branch of Israeli relief charity Meir Panim, at the House of Commons last week.
Iraqi-born Nadhim Zahawi MP, who noted Kurds’ “great relationship” with the Jewish community, was joined by Andrew Percy MP, who said: “Hunger doesn’t respect religion.”
Deputy Head of Mission Eitan Na’eh said we “can still cross barriers between people helping both Jews and Arabs alike” as he spoke about how the attack in Jerusalem was in direct contrast to the charity’s message of tolerance.
