Peer drawn against Brit at US Open
Israel’s three tennis players have been handed favourable draws at next week’s US Open.
Shahar Peer, who is no longer Israel’s highest ranked women singles player, will face Great Britain’s Johanna Konta, while Julia Glushko, who usurped her as the number one, will take on American wildcard Madison Brengle.
Israel’s only singles men player is Dudi Sela, and he finds himself up against Argentine Carlos Berlocq.
Elsewhere in the men’s draw, American Noah Rubin, who won the junior title at Wimbledon last month, will take on Federico Delbonis in his first ever Grand Slam match.
