IN PICTURES: Council of Christians and Jews launch new interfaith strategy
AT JW3 the Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ) launched their new strategy, focusing on education, dialogue and social action, at an event attended by CCJ Stakeholders and prominent community figures.
On Monday 15 December a new chapter in interfaith relations was reached, as over 50 CCJ stakeholders and community figures from the Jewish and Christian faith communities gathered for the launch of CCJ’s new strategy presented by Director Dr. Jane Clements and Deputy Director Elizabeth Harris-Sawczenko.
The new strategy will focus on Education, Dialogue, and Social Action, targeting Jewish and Christian clergy, with a particular emphasis on local projects for young adults and students.
It will will also encourage Jewish and Christian communities to work together are on social action projects in the UK. This will increase the impact and effectiveness of CCJ’s work.
Most importantly, CCJ is concerned to reestablish its role as a forum for Jewish and Christian voices, providing a safe space for respectful dialogue, especially on difficult issues.
Those attending included Chief Executives and Directors from prominent organisations in the religious and wider communities attended the event.
Both Rt Revd Nigel McCulloch, the current Chair of the CCJ and Rt Revd Michael Ipgrave OBE, the incoming Chair, were present at the reception, as well as Lord Howard of Lympne, a CCJ Trustee.

“This is a very exciting time for CCJ and we look forward to working closely with organisations from both Jewish and Christian communities to continue developing closer relationships and better understanding.”
