‘Counter-terrorism fund’ to protect faith schools suggested
David Cameron should consider a “counter-terrorism fund” for faith schools, said the MP for Finchley and Golders Green this week.
Tabling a question at Prime Minister’s Questions, Mike Freer MP urged the government to bolster funding for the security of schools and community buildings, after claiming 120 buildings were “at risk of terrorist attacks”.
Cameron responded that £2.3 million provided in the schools security grant to protect security in Jewish schools would be maintained.
The PM also said he met with the Jewish Leadership Council, and the Education Secretary would meet with the Community Security Trust, to discuss further security measures.
