Police appeal for help after Jewish woman brutally attacked in her Golders Green home
Police have appealed for information after a Jewish woman was brutally attacked by burglars in her Golders Green home.
Deborah Nathan, 49, was tied up and kicked in the face during the “vicious attack” on two women, before the thieves made off with her son’s barmitzvah presents and jewellery worth thousands of pounds.
The attack took place on Thornton Way on 18 June, but with no arrests, appeals were made this week for information, as police hunt two black males who sped off towards the North Circular in a black Peugeot car with a silver skull on the gear knob.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Nathan, who was left traumatised and suffering from broken ribs after she was attacked with her 38-year old friend, described the assault.
“I was pushing them out but they were so aggressive, they overpowered me. They pushed me to the floor and said: ‘Keep quiet and nothing will happen’.
“They kicked me in the stomach. I shouted to warn my friend but they pulled her down the stairs and smashed her head against a banister which broke off from the force. They were pushing us down and put tape over our mouths.”
She added: “One of them kept watch while the other went upstairs. It was like he knew where everything was. I said: ‘Please don’t take my son’s presents’. They picked up my head by my hair and kicked me in the face.”
Nathan said she was left with a black eye and swollen face, and was “in agony for a week.” Anyone with information can call Barnet CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
