Pupils converge on new state-of-the-art Rimon Primary
Rimon Jewish Primary School this week moved into their new state-of-the-art school building on Dunstan Road in Golders Green.
The move marked the completion of phase one of the building project, which houses Rimon’s two existing classes of Year One and Reception pupils. It’s hoped that the building – complete with an ICT library, a school garden and weather station – will be completed by the summer term next year.
Head teacher Dr Zoe Dunn said: “It is wonderfully rewarding to be able to welcome our excited pupils and impressed parents into our new school building. Parents and pupils alike love the bright and stimulating classrooms and the new playground areas.”
After putting up the mezuzah, rabbi Dr Harvey Belovski, Rimon’s Religious Principal, said: “I am delighted and proud to celebrate the opening of the first phase of Rimon’s beautiful new building. May it be a place of Jewish growth, Torah learning and academic excellence in a happy and warm environment, allowing our children and their wonderful staff to flourish.”
Meanwhile, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis joined the ground breaking ceremony for Immanuel College’s new beit hamidrash – funded by the Atar and Zwillenberg families. He spoke to 500 pupils and parents about how people do not need to be famous to make a difference to the world, and was entertained by year two pupils singing a popular Chanukah song.
